Humungo Flower Head Bands! LOVE EM!!

Can you believe that some stores are trying to sell these headbands for 10 bucks! I cant! So.. I made my own haha. So simple! Here's the steps on how I made mine...
What you need:
One fakie flower (i chose a pink gerber daisy, it was cute and a buck)
One sheet of felt (it's like 50 cents at a craft store)
12.5 inches of elastic lace (for the headband, i got 5 yards for $1.74)
glue gun, scissors, needle and thread
Step 1: Get all your supplies ready! Cut out 12.5 inches (for newborn) of your elastic lace. Pull off the flower from the stem (and trim the extra plastic) cut out 2 circles of felt to cover the back of the flower.
Step 2: Fold your elastic in half with pretty side on the inside and sew the two ends together. When your done flip it out so it's a head band and you can check out your stitch. Should look like this. ..
Step 3: Hot glue gun time! Glue on one felt circle to your flower to cover the plastic. Place head band (this is where i hide my stitching) on the felt circle.
Step 4: Now you're going to glue the 2nd circle on to cover the headband stiching. BONUS! this will give the flower a nice soft end that touches babys' head. No one wants there baby to be uncomfortable.
Hope it kinda makes sense and if it doesn't i hope the pictures help! Haha.. hey give me a break! I'm preggers and I work full time and I make time for my crafts... Mike time is in there somewhere haha.. so i guess i should log off and go spend time with him :)

Pssh 4 hours my eye!

I can not believe that my first one took 4 hours! I made this baby in an hour and a half.. 3 episodes of "everybody love raymond" to be exact! I love this one! It has everything, apples (good), fun colors (great), pink (awesome), and stars (AMAZING!). I just used regular fabric so its nice and light compared to my first one which i made out of flannel. Can't wait to have a baby in my seat and she gets to stare at the stars! I haven't added the buttons, but this one has velcro on the straps (just as easy as sewing on the snaps)

The Crafty Bug Hits Me AGAIN!!

So last night I was in the middle of making another car seat canopy for my ladies (so i could take pics with my steps) and then i had the urge to make my baby's mobile instead haha... Here's what I've came up with! Of course i didn't make the birds (i bought them from pottery barn kids for $19.00) and the plastic part was purchased too, but i did make the hood? i guess you could call it. I have to find some cute ribbon to hold the birds but i was so excited just to get it up! I'll finish it today :)

This one goes out to all my LADIES!

So this will be much faster than typing all the steps for the car seat canopy to each of you ladies! The babycenter top dogs won't let me just say "hey, it's on this blog so come check it out!" Something about some people get paid when their blog is looked at? pssshh I wish!

Drum Roll PLEASE…….Here are the steps to making your very own Car Seat Canopy!

What you’ll need:
1 ¼ yard of fabric for the outside (fabric shown to the world)
1 ¼ yard of fabric for the inside (fabric your baby will be staring at)
2 snaps (or 2 inches of Velcro)
2 big decorative buttons (I like doing contrasting colors here)
And of course your sewing machine, scissors, and thread!
Tip! When you buy your fabric, make sure that both selections are the same width or else you’ll have to cut one down to size so it matches the other side.

Lets begin!
STEP 1: Cut each piece of fabric 1 yard long. You will now have two pieces of fabric that are twins (matching all the way around). Put fabric together so pretty side is facing in. Get a dinner plate and place on each corer, tracing with a circle to round out the edges. Cut fabric so you have a nice curve at each corner of your fabric.
STEP 2: With your extra fabric, cut out two pieces (about 8 inches long and 2 ½ inches across) of fabric. This will be for your straps. Pin with pretty sides facing inward.

STEP 3: Sew a straight stich around your large (blanket) fabric and on each strip. Make sure to leave an opeing for yourself so you can turn your fabric right side out so the pretty side shows and no seams do

STEP 4: When you turn your fabric right side out, fold in the opening just a bit and sew shut. You can now sew a more decorative stitch along your edges if you’d like. It’s cute but not needed and don’t forget to do your two strips also
STEP 5: Now lay out your canopy, find the middle of your canopy and pin the strips down. You’ll want to make sure you find the midline of your canopy and keep the strips about 3 inches apart.

STEP 6: Make two stitches across the width of your strips on either side of your midline.

STEP 7: Now take your canopy over to your carseat and pin the straps where you want your Velcro or Snaps to go. Sew on your Velcro or snaps. Sew on your decorative button and you are all done!

SEE!!! Not to bad eh?!

Good luck ladies!! I'll have to add pictures with each step soon :) I'll probably be making another one in a couple days or so

Oh YES I did!!

Yep! I totally made this! By myself and everything. I am super proud, I've never finished a project before. I give this one a B+ and I can't WAIT til I get super good at them so I can make them for all my baby mama friends! Even though it's not an A, I'm still going to use it. HEY! This took me 4 hours, a handful of curse words, one bag of cheetos, and a couple mama mia sing a long breaks.... it deserves to be used... it's made with love. Whatever I think it looks great! The first pic is of the outside and the second pic is what's on the inside.. who doesn't like color bursts that kinda look like fireworks?!

Guess what today is?!?

Today marks my 6th month! It's seriously a milestone! 6 months means that I could probably have Izzie now and she would still live! I mean, not without serious complications, but still.. it's a peace of mind really! She's been busy kicking away (doctor says shes breech.. butt down for those who don't know what breech means) and it seems as if she's happy that way haha. She kicks so much.. well.. except when mike wants to feel.. then she instantly freezes. I swear she has some spidey sense about when it's not mommy's hands feeling her, she'll stop moving in protest. Poor mike.. never gets to have any fun! Anyways, I had to add this picture, I took it last night, Mike using Mei-Lei as a pillow. They were all tuckered out at 9:00 pm while i was a sewing fool!
